Are you a fan of theme parks or a die-hard Universal Studios enthusiast? If so, you won’t want to miss our firsthand experience of the brand new Terra Luna Resort. Opened on March 25, 2025, this stunning hotel is just a stone's throw away from Universal Epic Universe, which is set to open on May 22, 2025. We were eager to see what immersive atmosphere Universal could create with this new hotel!
First Impressions
As soon as we arrived at Terra Luna Resort, we were impressed by its bright and lively atmosphere. The lobby boasts high ceilings adorned with out-of-this-world decor along with photo ops, and pathways to shopping and dining.
The design caters to families, while still allowing a great atmosphere for singles and couple alike, making it a great option for anyone heading to the soon-to-open Universal Epic Universe. Our stay added to our anticipation for the upcoming park adventures.
Room Accommodations
Our pool view room was spacious enough for four people and offered an inviting blend of modern style and cosmic touches. The room came fully equipped with a mini-fridge and coffee maker along with a bench, a small table, a dresser, TV, nightstand between the two queen-size beds, and a safe, iron, and ironing board located in the closet.
The bathroom featured a tub/shower stocked with pleasantly scented shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of towels.

Dining Options
Off the lobby to the right is the Omega Cafe and Market with uniquely themed names on dining options like Nebulas Nest and Space Monkey at the Cafe. If you’re in a rush or need a quick pick-me-up, the Market offers grab-and-go snacks and coffee, a perfect option during busy park days.
Located in the lobby just outside the Omega Cafe and Market is the Luna Bar offering craft cocktails.
Another highlight was Moonrise Bar, the resort's poolside bar, where you can relax with a refreshing cocktail and light bites.
For guests with dietary restrictions, please speak with staff for food accommodations.
Amenities
The pool area offered a plethora of seating both in sand and on the pool deck along with various poolside games. The zero-entry pool going up to 4 feet in depth is spacious enough to allow for all pool related activities with a large hot tub conveniently located next to the bar.
Other amenities include a small game room and a well-equipped fitness center with state-of-the-art machines located right off the pool area.

Prime Location and Easy Access
The location of Terra Luna Resort is hard to beat. A shuttle ride can take you to the entrance of Universal Studios without the hassle of parking, and will soon offer a ride to Epic Universe.
With Universal Epic Universe opening soon, the convenience of popping back to this hotel for a break or meal during a long day at Epic Universe is a major plus, ensuring that energy levels remain high.
The Good
The proximity to Epic Universe and the cleanliness of a new hotel are what make this hotel special. All aspects of the hotel match the theme, and its prime value designation gives families the option of a cheaper accommodation while enjoying the theme park experience.
Although there was nothing particularly special about the food, it was still very good and matched the overall theming.
The lobby, cafe, and pool area had a lot of tables, lounging space, and places to charge phones and other electronics.
We found the staff to be very attentive and friendly, and dedicated to a flawless experience.
Overall it was relaxing and pleasant.
The Not-So-Good
Reflection of the sun off the building into the pool area was very hot on a day that wouldn't be considered one of Florida's hot days, and I would highly recommend finding a spot not directly in the path of this reflection, as even in the shade you could feel the heat of the sun bouncing off the tiles.
We also noticed some things were showing signs of wear even though it is newly opened and if its sister hotel is any indication of what condition we can expect in a couple of months, this hotel will show significant signs of wear.
So, Is It Worth It?
This is a hard one for us to say. Although we didn't find anything warranting a negative review, nothing stood out as exceptional. As this is a prime value resort, we feel it lives up to it designation and is a good cheaper option for people wanting to be at the parks and staying on Universal property. The proximity to the highly anticipated Epic Universe will make this location a highly sought after on-site option. For now, this property is worth it for those wanting to experience Epic Universe.
OIC Vacation Tips
Although this is a nice hotel and its proximity to Epic Universe is outstanding, we find Cabana Bay to be a better value for its amenities, location, and its many room options.
